Duke A. Anabah, Esq. - Company Secretary

Duke is a Ghanaian Rwandan trained Lawyer. He is a skilled Corporate Lawyer working for a variety of clients both local and international. He has extensive knowledge of Laws surrounding start-up businesses, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations & drafting, Corporate & Commercial Law, Labour Law etc. Additional knowledge of Rwandan and Ghanaian tax laws have proven to be invaluable asset to his clients.

He also has vast industry experience in Marketing, Procurement, Local Governance, Corporate Governance and Law with consistent track record of successfully employing business practices that improve efficiency, reduce operating costs whilst increasing productivity, all within tight time scales and budget. He has a professional attitude and an ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive manner. 

Duke started his career as a teacher with Ghana Education Service from 1999- 2002. He then proceeded for further studies to pursue a career in Marketing. After completion, he started his career in marketing with Somovision as a Marketing Officer from 2004-2005. He became Sales Supervisor for Primex Ghana/Rear Marketing from 2006-2007 and then joined the then Ghana Telecom as an intern Marketing Officer and subsequently a Customer Service Representative of Vodafone Ghana till he voluntarily exited Vodafone in December, 2010

He then joined Hydronomics Ltd as its Marketing / Procurement Manager from January 2011- May 2018. At Hydronomics Ltd, Duke was the liaison between the Company and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) where he participated in both local and international seminars and exhibitions. He also became Project Manager in 2012 for the Company which was a participant of the local content aspect of the Ghana Gas Project at Atuabo

He is currently an International Consultant with Westlaw Alliance, a Kigali based law firm and a Legal Researcher at Puozuing & Associates, an Accra based law firm.

In the area of Local Governance, Duke served as a Government appointee to Bongo District Assembly from April, 2017 – July, 2022. Within same period he was elected the Hon Presiding Member of Bongo District Assembly and by virtue of that served as the Chairman of the Public Relations & Complaint Committee (PRCC) of Bongo District Assembly as well as Audit Committee member of Bongo District Assembly.

He holds the following academic qualifications; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA-Marketing) from Methodist University-Ghana, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Mountcrest University College, Ghana and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA-Corporate Governance) from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). 

Additionally, Duke holds the following Professional qualifications; Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing- UK (CIM) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice & Development, Nyanza-Rwanda. He was called to Rwanda Bar in January 2020.

Duke is also a Member of the following professional bodies; Rwanda Bar Association (RBA), East African Law Society (EALS) and Chartered Institute of Marketing-UK (CIM). He was appointed as the COMPANY SECRETARY of the Bank on December 01, 2022. He brings to the board a wealth of multi-sectorial industry experience and diverse disciplines making him well rounded for the job.
